COURSE CATEGORIES
Core classes are courses that happen every year, and are required for students to graduate.
Electives are classes that can change each year, depending on student interest and faculty availability.
Grades 10-12 are permitted to choose which electives they take.
AP Courses are offered based on student interest and performance. These courses require students to take an AP exam at the year, which may award students with potential college credit hours in a given subject.
Dual Credit courses are taken senior year and provide students with both high school and college credit hours. College credit is provided through Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC).
A class field trip is offered each year, in which students give a report each night on what they have learned and experienced. Field Studies' aim is to expose students to new places and ties into what they have learned in the classroom. Field Studies counts as a quarter credit toward students' final GPAs.
